Pre insulated underground chilled water piping is factory-integrated buried cooling pipe for central air and district chilled water systems. It consists of PE-RT II working tube, closed-cell PU insulation and HDPE outer jacket. Pre-fabricated design eliminates on-site insulation, delivers minimal cold loss and great anti-corrosion performance, with complete electrofusion & butt fusion fittings for full underground cooling pipeline projects.

This pre insulated underground chilled water piping series adopts two mainstream carrier pipe solutions: PE-RT II composite plastic pipe and carbon steel pipe, covering DN20-DN1600 full specification range. The rigid polyurethane foam insulation layer forms seamless filling between working pipe and outer jacket, effectively preventing cold bridge and condensate dripping during long-term chilled water transportation. Multiple outer sheath options including HDPE winding casing, FRP fiberglass shell and metal galvanized steel casing are available to adapt dry, saline and acid underground soil environments. The product complies with GB/T40402, GB/T29047 and international industry standards, stable for long-term chilled medium below 85℃ with working pressure ≤1.0MPa. Complete supporting insulated fittings (45°/90° elbow, equal/reducing tee, reducer, end cap) and field joint insulation kits are supplied, supporting straight pipe and coiled pipe customized lengths. It can be laid directly underground, in trenches or integrated pipe gallery, widely used in shopping malls, office buildings, industrial parks and municipal district cooling projects.

 

Product Technology

 

· Raw Material Inspection: All steel pipe, PE-RT tube, polyurethane raw materials and HDPE particles pass strict composition and performance testing before production.

· Surface Pretreatment: Steel pipes go through shot blasting rust removal & FBE anti-corrosion coating; plastic pipes adopt precise extrusion with wall thickness closed-loop control.

· Integrated Forming: Two mature production lines: One-step integral extrusion & spray winding process. Polyether polyol and isocyanate are automatically proportioned for high-density foaming, uniform insulation thickness without voids.

· Outer Shell Molding: HDPE extrusion winding / FRP winding / metal plate wrapping according to customer requirements, online cooling and dimension inspection.

· Pipe End Trimming & Marking: Cut and clean pipe ends, print specification, batch, standard code for full traceability.

· Finished Product Testing: Conduct thermal conductivity, compression, water absorption and pressure resistance test before warehousing.

Q: What working medium temperature can pre insulated underground chilled water piping bear?

A: If adopting PE-RT II plastic working pipe, long-term stable working temperature ≤85℃, max working pressure 1.0MPa; steel type can operate under long-term 120℃ with peak temp up to 140℃, pressure reach 2.5MPa, customers can select according to cooling system parameters.

Q: Can we customize insulation thickness and pipe length?

A: Yes. PU insulation thickness range 26~150mm adjustable; straight pipe standard length DN≤63 is 4m, DN≥63 is 6m, coiled pipes with customized length 80~360m are available on demand.

Q: What ground conditions fit HDPE outer sheath pipe?

A: HDPE outer pre insulated underground chilled water piping suits ordinary neutral underground soil with low corrosion. For saline, acid or swamp soil, we recommend FRP fiberglass outer jacket version for longer service life.
